Penis Elongation- Is It a Myth or Its Possible?

Is penis elongation possible? many people keep wondering. ‘How can I increase my penis length? How can I increase my penis girth? Does my partner find my penis too small?” Those are some of the reasons that trigger most men to consider penis elongation in various ways.

All these are common questions that most men, especially those between 18 – 40 years, ask themselves. Most end up opting for solutions (mostly pills and creams) that they find online which have no scientific evidence that they actually work. But before we dive further into the “penis elongation” topic, we must understand what brings up this issue among most men.

What is the Average Size?

For a person to feel that they have a smaller penis, they must have compared it to something. According to a study done in 2021, most men think that the average penis size is 6 inches or 15.24 cm long. However, that data is based on self-reported measurements and is not accurate.

Research showed that the average penis length is between 5.1 inches (around 12.9 cm) and 5.5 inches (approximately 13.9cm).

A 2019 study showed that most men who feel they have a smaller penis suffer from penile dysmorphic disorder. It’s a condition whereby one has insecurities and anxieties about the size of their penis. Although most men have an average penis size, there are two common medical conditions that can be associated with having a small penis.

  • Micropenis: This is a health condition where the penis is smaller than the average size.
  • Peyronie’s disease: This a condition where the penis appears bent when erect. That makes it appear smaller even if it of average size.

Unfortunately, NONE of these pills or lotions or creams is clinically proven to increase the penis length. There is no medical or scientific evidence that has been tabled so far.

But why are manufacturers of these products insisting that their products that they work?

That’s because most of these pills contain the same ingredients found in drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) or enlarged prostate. These ingredients can be anything from tadalafil and sildenafil – the main ingredients of Viagra and Cialis.

The major side effect of these drugs is that their ingredients can react with ingredients of other prescription drugs like nitroglycerin which would greatly lower the blood pressure to health-threatening levels.

2. Penile extenders

Penile extender devices can come in different designs or shapes. However, they all use traction to try and extend the penis length. According to a report by the Journal of Sexual Medicine, the flaccid penis length of participants increased by 1.5 cm after 3 months of using penile extenders.

Unfortunately, a study on how safe these devices are is still ongoing. Due to how they work, some users have reported that too much stretching can cause bruises on the penis skin, blood clots, or nerve damage. Some have also reported that they can be quite cumbersome and uncomfortable to use.

3. Vacuum pump

Vacuum pumps are mainly used to handle erectile dysfunction issues. However, there are users who claim that they used them to increase their penis length. However, that is not clinically proven and it is based on “self-reported” claims.

However, excessive usage of vacuum pumps might cause tissue damage which might have a negative effect on erections.

4. Clamps and rings

Clamps or rings are mainly used to handle erectile dysfunction issues. After you have experienced an erection, you place the clamp or ring at the base of your penis to prevent the blood from flowing back.

Although this might temporarily increase your penis length, wearing a ring or clamp for more than 30 minutes might cut the blood flow which will have a negative effect on penile tissues.
